Waste
Log food that was thrown away, spoiled, or spilled — so your stock stays accurate.
1
What is this?
When food goes bad, gets dropped, or is thrown away for any reason, you log it here. This keeps your stock numbers honest and gives you data on where you're losing money to waste.
2
What problem does it solve?
Without logging waste, your system thinks you have more stock than you actually do. Your counts won't match, your cost calculations drift, and you have no idea how much food you're throwing away each month.
3
How to set it up
- 1Go to Dashboard → Waste
- 2Click Log Waste
- 3Select the ingredient, enter the quantity, and pick a reason (expired, damaged, overproduction, etc.)
- 4Save — stock is deducted immediately

Pro tip
Track waste for one month and you'll be shocked. Most restaurants waste 5–10% of purchases. Just knowing the number makes your team more careful — it's the awareness that drives improvement.
