Is the Payroll source the same as the Payroll Report?

The Custom Report Builder's Payroll source uses roster-assignment hours × hourly rate, which may differ from the main Payroll Report's salary-based calculation. Use the Payroll Report for official pay figures.

Can I export directly to Excel?

Export produces a CSV file, which opens in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet tool.
