What happens if a staff member doesn't have the refund permission?

The POS prompts for a manager PIN to authorize the refund for that transaction. The approving manager's name is recorded in the audit log.

Can a staff member access a different location?

Yes — use the Location Switcher in the POS sidebar. It clears the current order and shift state and reloads for the new outlet.

Every staff member gets a 4-digit PIN and a role that defines exactly what they can do — sensitive actions require a manager override, not a full re-login.

What it does

Device pairing: a manager signs in once (email/password), picks the location, and names the device; this persists across reloads.
PIN login: staff enter their 4-digit PIN on a branded screen; the POS loads their role and permissions instantly.
Granular permissions for every sensitive action: void, refund, discount, split, merge, transfer, cash movement, and reports.
Supervisor PIN override: when a staff member lacks a permission, a manager enters their PIN to authorize that single action — and KinDee records who approved it.
Location switcher lets one device serve multiple outlets; logout keeps the shift open for the next user.

FAQ

KinDee has four built-in roles: Owner, Manager, Cashier/Server, and Staff. Custom roles with any combination of granular permissions can also be created in the Dashboard.
